Francis Turbine
A Francis turbine is a type of reaction turbine that efficiently converts water’s kinetic energy into mechanical power, commonly used in hydroelectric power plants for medium-head applications. It combines radial and axial flow principles, with water entering radially and exiting axially.
Production Range
- Head : 12 – 250m
- Turbine Output : 100kW – 5MW
NOTE : Data in the table are informative and can differ depending on actual project characteristics.
Design
- Horizontal Shaft
- Vertical Shaft
Applications
- Our horizontal Francis units can be supplied with over hung design or with a separate Turbine shaft with provision of adequate flywheel in the cases where penstock is relatively long
